  1. Hello,

My name is Betsy Lake and I am contacting you from ThinkYoung, the first Brussels-based think tank and NGO focused on young people. At the moment we are organising our upcoming campaign on the topic of HiddenInventors, and we are reaching out to you for a potential collaboration.

The #HiddenInventors campaign will take place for 5 weeks (starting October 1st) aimed at celebrating European innovation – past, present and future. The campaign puts the spotlight on inventors few of us have heard of, but whose inventions we all know and use.

The pillars of the campaign include:
    1. Outdoor billboards around EU institutions in Brussels with pixelated portraits of 5 European inventors to attract people’s interest and curiosity
    2. Webpage (on the ThinkYoung website: http://www.thinkyoung.eu) serving as a hub for all content, social media activation and media outreach
    3. Booklet with profiles of 20 #HiddenInventors that will be distributed to EU policymakers and to schools and will be available to download as a PDF from 1st October

All in all, we aim at giving visibility to the Hidden Inventors who changed the world with amazing inventions. In doing so, we hope to drive a policy discussion on the value of invention and to inspire the next generation of inventors in Europe.

In this context, it is in our interest to engage as many young people as possible in the event. This is why we would be delighted to create this collaboration with you and your students of 8-18 years old.

    How?
    – Pass by the school and present this initiative
    – Give out booklets presenting the Hidden European Inventors. These booklets will also be available online to download as a PDF.

If no one external is being permitted to enter the school premises due to the current crisis, it is also a possibility that we give around 10 booklets for you to distribute to your students and give a virtual presentation explaining the campaign.

Should you have any questions or to receive further information, please do not hesitate to reply to this email or to call us.

Look forward to hearing from you soon!

    Best regards,
    Betsy
